Mounting on the shaft

SKF TMFT 36

If you have a mechanical or hydraulic pump, you can use it to install small and medium-sized bearings.

Installation of medium and large bearings is easier if the bearings are warmed up to about 80°C above the room temperature. SKF induction heating devices are especially suitable for heating the bearings. After the heating has been completed, the bearing should be quickly and in one stroke fastened to its bed and kept there until it cools down. It is recommended to use protective gloves when working with heated bearings.

Small and medium sizes bearings with a conical hole can be pushed to the conical shaft bearing by means of an anchor nuts and a hook or impact key. For larger bearings, we recommend the use of hydraulic nuts, and with even larger bearings, additional use of the SKF method with oil injection is recommended. In order to implement the oil injection method, the shaft bearing must be equipped with channels and grooves for supplying and distributing oil.

Mounting in the housing

Also, when installing small bearings, you can use the SKF kit for TMFT 24 or TMFT 36 mounting tools. You can also use impact hats or hose assemblies that you have made yourself. In order to fit the bearing, it is sometimes necessary to heat the housing, especially if the bearing is of larger dimensions. In general, minor warming is sufficient, for example, using a bulb.

Mounting of roller bearings

Bearing ring roller bearings are generally mounted separately from one another. After lubricating the rollers with oil or grease, collect a free ring and a bearing ring with a roller coil. Mounting of ball bearings with oblique touch and conical bearings

Installation of ball bearings with oblique touch and conical bearings can be quite demanding. In many cases, it is necessary to set a certain playability or preload of the bearing assembly. If you do not have all the instructions and information, ask the manufacturer of the machine for advice.

Mounting bearings on tensile bushings

Push the straps on the shaft all the way to the marked place. In doing so, you can help by clearing the incision of the bush. Then install the bearing, tighten the nut and push the bearing to the sleeve. Unscrew the nut of the blower again, install the retaining washer, and then tighten the nut of the sleeve. Secure the nut by folding the tab of the washer.

To tighten the sleeve nuts, SKF hooks and impact kits are suitable, as well as the TMHN 7 SKF keys. The complete range of keys can be viewed in CATALOG. Bearings with a hole diameter lager than 50mm can be easily and safely mounted using the SKF hydraulic nut.
