How does plug welding take place?
Plug welding in fact means that the machine element with the entire surface is welded onto the surface of the second element or, it means a special form of point welding where the screw or a specially formed nut is screwed onto the second metal part. Larger plugs have a tip on the surface, which allows them to lighten the arc, while smaller plugs have a flat, spun tip. In general, there are several ways to weld the plugs:
- welding of plugs with arc and
- lashing condenser welding of plugs.
We use condenser welding for smaller plugs and larger plugs are welded by the arc process.
