Helical impellers

Helical impellers are used for the transportation of various materials, such as:

• wood pellets and wood chips, cereals, feeding stuff, food products, lime, cement, calcite, sawdust, etc.

Transport can be horizontal, inclined or vertical. According to the purpose of use, the helical impellers can be extractable, transportable, dosing and mixing.

What are screw conveyors?

Screw (or auger) conveyorsrepresent a universal conveying device for transport of clean and dust free bulk cargoes in bulk. The construction of screw conveyors usually consists of a gutter, which can be trough or tubular, with a screw spiral or helical impeller inside, which acts as an Archimedes spiral when rotating (the point which travels around the starting point is distanced relative to the angle).
 
Diameters vary from 50 to 1600 mm. Screw conveyors can be made of structural steel, stainless steel of various qualities and from wear resistant steels. Helical impellers are made in 3-metre long elements and are available in shorter sizes. For all other dimensions and designs, please contact us.

What are the advantages of screw conveyors?

• The advantages of screw conveyors are a simple construction and relatively small dimensions.
• They do not take much space.
• They can be installed on the floor, on the ceiling or on the wall. Because they are well sealed, it is possible to transport dusty materials and materials of unpleasant odour without polluting the rooms and the environment in which the transport takes place.
• They are lightweight and of easy maintenance.
• Transport with screw conveyors is possible at the desired angle, they also offer high transport capacity.

What types of screw conveyors do we know?

Firstly, screw conveyors are divided according to size. The word size primarily refers to the diameter of the gutters and the length of the helices. We also divide them in terms of capacity, as they can be rotated by one or more speed drives. The third division relates to whether the conveyorsare intended for transport only, or they are also used for dosing. The form of the groove is also an element of differentiation between the conveyors. This can be round or trough, consisting of plain steel or stainless steel.
