Sanding and trimming technique
Sanding
Sanding is one of the fine finishing processes with trimming, which allows us to achieve high accuracy and excellent quality of the treated surface with a spot-limited chip plastification.
Sanding is used when we want to achieve a smooth surface. The sanding layer is very thin, so high precision can be achieved when sanding. Sanding can also be done on very hard materials, which is very convenient for finishing toughened objects.
The tool or sanding machine/sander, used during the process itself, has a large number of cuts, which are usually of irregular shapes. The whetstone performs the main movement, while the sanding machine can be manual or automatic. At points where the sanding grains touch the machining surface, high temperatures usually occur, as the sanding process is characterised by high cutting speed.
What types of sanding and sanding machines do we know?
We can sand flat or round surfaces. The first method of sanding is carried out by front or orbital sanding. The latter is possible only with the orbital sander. The sanding of the rotation surfaces is divided into external or internal sanding.
The simplest grinding machine is called a simple sanding machine. This is used manually. It consists of an electric motor, a sanding plate, a protective cover and a workbench with a clamping device. In addition, we also know a manual sanding machine, which is an indispensable tool in every workshop and a sanding machine with a sanding belt.
